1. Service Overview
SkipDaLine is a personal shopping and local delivery service operating within Ontonagon County, Michigan. When you submit an order request, you are requesting that a SkipDaLine team member shop for your selected items at your chosen store and deliver them to your specified address.
SkipDaLine acts as a personal shopper on your behalf. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent of any store we shop at.
2. Order Requests & Authorization Hold
Submitting a request constitutes an agreement to the following payment terms:
- A $250.00 temporary authorization hold will be placed on your card at the time of request submission. This hold reserves funds but does not constitute a charge.
- You will only be charged the actual store total for your items plus the SkipDaLine service fee (flat fee + mileage).
- The authorization hold will be reduced to the actual charge amount upon delivery completion. Any unused portion of the hold is released automatically.
- Orders are capped at a maximum store total of $250.00. Requests that appear to exceed this limit may be declined before shopping begins.
3. Service Fees
Every order request includes a $30.00 flat service fee plus a mileage fee calculated as the round-trip distance from the store to your delivery address at a per-mile rate. Both fees are displayed on the checkout page before you authorize payment.
Store item prices are the actual prices charged at the store at time of purchase. SkipDaLine does not mark up item prices.
4. Cancellations & Changes
- Requests may be canceled at no charge before a SkipDaLine shopper has begun shopping. Contact us immediately by phone or text if you need to cancel.
- Once shopping has begun, cancellation is not available and the order will be completed and charged.
- Item substitutions: if an item is unavailable, it will be omitted from your order and not charged. We do not substitute items without prior communication.
5. Delivery
- Delivery is available only within Ontonagon County, Michigan. We reserve the right to decline requests outside our service area.
- We make reasonable efforts to complete delivery the same day a request is accepted. Delivery windows may vary based on shopper availability, store hours, and driving conditions.
- Perishable items are transported with care but SkipDaLine is not responsible for spoilage caused by customer unavailability at the time of delivery.
- You are responsible for being available to receive your delivery or providing clear instructions (leave at door, etc.).
6. Payment & Refunds
Payment is processed securely through Square. SkipDaLine does not store your full card number at any time.
Refunds for items not delivered (out of stock, unavailable) are handled automatically by capturing only the amount corresponding to delivered items. If you believe you were incorrectly charged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
7. Privacy
SkipDaLine collects your name, phone number, email address, and delivery address for the purpose of fulfilling your order. This information is stored securely and is not sold or shared with third parties except as required to complete your delivery (e.g., payment processor).
Order history is retained for business record-keeping purposes. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us directly.
8. Limitation of Liability
SkipDaLine is a small independent service. We are not liable for:
- Store item availability, pricing changes, or product quality
- Delays caused by weather, road conditions, or store closures
- Damage to items caused by conditions outside our control
- Any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of our service
Our maximum liability for any order is limited to the SkipDaLine fee paid for that order.
9. Modifications
SkipDaLine reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be communicated via the website.
